Abstract

A prática de spmb [São Paulo-Manitoba] foi formada a partir de referências espaciais virtualmente dadas como dicotômicas, definidas pelas experiências aparentemente entre o sul (São Paulo, Brasil) e o norte (Winnipeg, Canadá). A fascinação por um ideal de modernidade aonde a apreensão do continente das Américas como um fenômeno contíguo, formador de um único território, fez da trans- territorialidade (São Paulo-Winnipeg) um código fundamental para a nossa prática. A imagem de um mapa que se dobra, aonde as geografias de SP e MB se confluem num mesmo ponto, sugere a troca de experiências como estratégia para a reinvenção do programa e, como conseqüência, do desenho. Em spmb: 2 projetos articulamos tais posições a partir de dois projetos emblemáticos que foram gerados destas referências trans-territoriais, informando assim uma nova configuração espacial – enquanto Flatbox é uma alusão direta à paisagem das pradarias, Plage é uma síntese da praia enquanto fenômeno físico-político-cultural.
