Abstract
African Demography is a quarterly newsletter published by the Research Co-operation and Publications Unit of the Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS) at the University of Ghana, Legon. The Regional Institute for Population Studies established in Accra, Ghana in February 1972 on the campus of the University of Ghana is a joint effort of the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Ghana to meet the training and research needs in the field of population of the African countries. The Institute aims at promoting and strengthening the research and training capabilities in Demography and related fields of mainly the English-speaking countries of Africa.
