Abstract
The Old Barn Community Center exists as part of a larger vision set out by the University's former Minister of Education who, in 1908, envisioned the University of British Columbia transforming from a commuter campus to a “complete, sustainable campus community” (UTown@UBC). As both a product of, and contributor to, this vision, The Old Barn Community Center upholds to the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of the campus.\n\nThis is a digital collection of image, text, and graphic documents produced by and for The Old Barn Community Center (University Neighbourhood Association) at the University of British Columbia, Point Grey Campus. This collection provides descriptions and appropriate metadata for each item. \n\nPreserving images and documents that represent the Old Barn’s near-20 year presence on the UBC campus will demonstrate, and make accessible, the Center’s vast contributions to community-building among residents, students, faculty, and staff at the UBC Vancouver Campus. \n\nWe would like to acknowledge that we are located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people.
