Abstract
/ Ce colloque international a été organisé par l'Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD, France), l'Université d'Agadir, le Centre de recherches pour le développement international (CRDI, Canada) et la fondation Ford. Quarante-cinq communicants, provenant de vingt-deux pays différents, étaient invités à débattre du sujet dans une région elle-même fortement affectée par la pénurie en eau. La question des rapports entre les modes de gestion de l'eau et la persistance de la pauvreté est aujourd'hui encore relativement peu abordée dans les travaux de recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. L'organisation du colloque visait à combler le fossé entre le monde académique et celui des organisations de la société civile, en invitant les deux parties à présenter leurs cas d'étude et/ou de leurs actions et à en débattre. La forte similitude des problèmes liés à l'allocation de l'eau de par le monde a facilité les échanges et a créé des débats riches et animés.
