Abstract
Conceived as an exhaustive reference guide destined for an international clientele, this arts directory represents more than 1200 organizations and institutions in Quebec. Including both governmental and independent bodies, the book is divided into 11 categories ranging from the performing arts and literature to artistic training, heritage sites and arts funding. Each entry provides the names and coordinates of the appropriate contact person, practical information (business hours, etc.), as well as a brief history of the institution, and a description of its mandate and activities. Includes an introductory section on political, historical and cultural aspects of the province, and information on possibilities of international cultural exchange. Lists of illustrations and source materials; onomastic index.
