Il est aujourd’hui difficile d’ignorer les pratiques d’exploitation sexuelle de jeunes femmes originaires du Nigéria, tant elles sont nombreuses sur certains trottoirs, comme « formatées » sur un même modèle. D’apparence jeune, voire très jeune, elles se déplacent par petits groupes, peuvent porter jusqu’au même modèle de vêtements, de bottes, occuper le même coin de trottoir chaque jour aux mêmes horaires, qu’il vente, pleuve ou neige. Elles ne parlent que quelques mots de français, mais s’expriment sans difficulté en anglais. Parfois exubérantes, certaines dansent, chantent ou interpellent les passants pour attirer l’attention des clients. Ne les voir que comme des victimes entre les mains de ceux qui les ont fait venir, nous semble aussi réducteur que d’en faire les actrices libres d’un parcours migratoire assumé.
