Abstract
This is a leather quarter binding from the Oesper History of Chemistry collection. The spine is covered in a brown leather and the boards are covered in a navy blue, textured cloth. The text block is trimmed and sewn through the fold on three recessed cords. The primary support is a thin, wove paper with black printer’s ink. This book was brought to the Preservation Lab, along with a number of others, to receive surrogates for upcoming exhibition. Of interest in this particular volume is the flyleaf which features T.H. Norton’s signature.
