Rendimiento diagnóstico de las reglas de Ottawa para fracturas en lesiones agudas del tobillo en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo

Abstract
Determinar el rendimiento diagnóstico de las reglas de Ottawa para \nfracturas en lesiones agudas del tobillo en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo. \nMATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Se realizó un estudio observacional, de corte transversal, de \npruebas diagnósticas que evaluó 114 pacientes con lesión aguda del tobillo, los cuales \nfueron distribuidos en dos grupos al final del estudio; Grupo I (40 pacientes con \nfractura de tobillo) y Grupo II (74 pacientes sin fractura de tobillo). \nRESULTADOS: La edad promedio global de la muestra estudiada fue 36,05 ± 16,25 \naños; el promedio para el grupo I fue 42,23 ± 18,24 años y para el grupo II fue 32,72 ± \n14,10 (p < 0,01); el 37,50% de los pacientes correspondieron al sexo masculino en el \ngrupo I y en el grupo II 36,49% (p > 0,05). Con respecto al mecanismo de lesión, en el \ngrupo I predominaron las caídas en un 50% y en el grupo II este mecanismo estuvo \npresente en 39,19% (p < 0,01); el tiempo de enfermedad promedio en el grupo I fue \n11,90 ± 16,11 y en el grupo II 7,06 ± 7,78 (p < 0,05). Al relacionar las reglas de Ottawa \ny la fractura de tobillo realizada a través de la radiografía, se encontró que en el grupo \nI las reglas de Ottawa diagnosticaron fractura de tobillo en el 100% y en el grupo II \n64,86% (p < 0,001). Con respecto al rendimiento de las reglas de Ottawa, para \npredecir fractura de tobillo, se tuvo que la sensibilidad, especificidad, VPP y VPN \nfueron 100%, 35,14%, 45,45% y 100% respectivamente. \nCONCLUSIONES: Las reglas de Ottawa constituyen una herramienta diagnóstica con \nuna sensibilidad del 100% en predecir fractura de tobillo. \nPALABRAS CLAVES: Fractura de tobillo, Reglas de Ottawa.
