Abstract
Menurut WHO, Promosi kesehatan adalah proses atau upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk dapat memelihara dan meningkatkan kesehatannya. Untuk mencapai keadaan sehat, seseorang atau kelompok harus mampu mengidentifikasi dan menyadari aspirasi, mampu memenuhi kebutuhan dan merubah atau mengendalikan lingkungan (Piagam Ottawa, 1986). Tujuan dari promosi kesehatan yaitu utamanya adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan individu, keluarga, ataupun masyarakat yang ada dilingkungan kerja untuk hidup sehat serta mengembangkan upaya kesehatan yang bersumber dari masyarakat dan terciptanya lingkungan kondusif sehingga mendorong terbentuknya kemampuan tersebut. Sehingga promosi kesehatan di tempat kerja merupakan suatu upaya preventif dan promotif untuk memampukan tenaga kerja dalam berperilaku lebih sehat serta mengkondisikan lingkungan kerja menjadi nyaman sehingga pekerja dapat bekerja dengan optimal. Perusahaan yang mempekerjakan tenaga kerja wajib memberikan perlindungan terhadap tenaga kerja yang mencakup keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja, moral dan kesusilaan, perlakukan yang sesuai dengan harkat dan martabat manusia dan nilai agama (UU RI No 13 tahun 2003). Pelaksanaan promosi kesehatan di tempat kerja menjadi hal yang penting untuk diterapkan di perusahaan karena melibatkan pekerja dalam suatu tempat kerja. Upaya implementasi promosi kesehatan yang bisa dilakukan di perusahaan meliputi penggunaan alat pelindung diri, media yang digunakan sebagai promosi kesehatan, sarana prasarana dan gerakan masyarakat yang mendukung terciptanya perilaku sehat. Perilaku sehat adalah suatu aktivitas yang berkaitan dengan pemeliharaan dan peningkatan kesehatan baik yang dapat diamati maupun yang tidak diamati. Oleh sebab itu, tenaga kerja perlu berperilaku sehat agar produktif dalam bekerja. Angka kecelakaan kerja di Indonesia termasuk di Jawa Timur cukup besar.
