Abstract
This paper aims to spread, translated into Spanish, a lecture, given by a Canadian journalist Naomi Klein in Toronto, Canada, in 2003.\nKlein warns us the threat that the neoliberal policies of the World Trade Organization and the General Agreement on Trade in Services pose to the survival of public services, in particular, for libraries, public spaces, in contrast to the private areas, restricted to consumers. The aim of this work is to raise awareness of the situation and a critical debate in the field and profession.
