Teknokraattinen populismi Suomessa : retorinen analyysi Liike Nytistä

Abstract
Teknokraattinen populismi on Euroopassa yleistyvä, mutta alitutkittu ilmiö. Suomen kontekstissa sitä ei vielä ole tutkittu lainkaan, vaikka ilmiö on tunnistettavissa myös suomalaisen politiikan kentältä. Tässä kandidaatintutkielmassa argumentoin, että Suomessa puolue, joka ilmentää teknokraattista populismia on vuonna 2018 perustettu Liike Nyt. Liike Nytistä huomionarvoisen suomalaisella puoluekentällä tekee sen esittämä kritiikki perinteisiä puolueita sekä poliittista järjestelmää kohtaan. Puolue ei kuitenkaan toistaiseksi ole valtakunnallisesti saavuttanut suuria kannatuslukemia. Sen kannatuksen kuitenkin vaihdellessa suurestikin maan sisällä, ja toisaalta samoihin toimintaperiaatteisin nojaavien puolueiden pitäessä hallussaan runsaasti poliittista valtaa eräissä toisissa Euroopan maissa, ansaitsee myös Liike Nyt tulla analysoitavammaksi tarkemmin. Tämä kandidaatintutkielma pyrkii vastaamaan kahteen tutkimuskysymykseen: onko Liike Nyt verkkosivujensa perusteella teknokraattisen populismin suomalainen ilmentymä, ja millaista retoriikkaa puolue verkkosivujensa kontekstissa käyttää, kun sitä tarkastellaan Burken määrittelemien identifikaation ja motiivien kautta. Tässä kandidaatintutkielmassa Liike Nytiä tarkastellaan osana teknokraattisen populismin ilmiötä sekä teoreettista viitekehystä hyödyntäen retorisen analyysin keinoja. Retorinen analyysi perustuu Kenneth Burken retoriikan pääteokseen A Rhetoric of Motives, ja erityisesti teoksen pääkäsitteisiin, retoriseen identifikaatioon ja sen taustalla vaikuttaviin motiiveihin. Tutkielman aineistona toimivat Liike Nytin verkkosivut, joista analyysi keskittyy teknokraattista populismia keskeisesti ilmentäviin kohtiin. Tutkielman lopussa esitän vastauksen tutkimuskysymyksiin ja pohdin, millaisena teknokraattisen populismin tulevaisuus näyttäytyy Suomessa.
