Esta obra de Kevin Keller, lanzada en Argentina en diciembre de 2008, es la traducción al español de la tercera edición de su libro Strategic Brand Management, publicado en Estados Unidos en junio de 2007. La primera edición en ingles data de 1998. El tópico de este libro son las marcas y el valor que ellas aportan a las organizaciones y a los consumidores. Se han escrito cientos de muy buenas obras sobre marcas en los últimos veinte años. Sin embargo, el trabajo de Keller, ya desde su primera edición, viene a llenar un vacío: el de la obra integradora que trata un tema con completitud y exhaustividad, tanto desde el punto de vista de sus fundamentos académicos como prácticos.
