Abstract
Cet essai explore la manière dont les communautés anglo-québécoises ont abordé les enjeux d'accommodements raisonnables et de gestion de la diversité culturelle lors de la Commission Bouchard-Taylor au Québec. Utilisant une analyse de contenu des mémoires soumis par les individus et groupes anglo-québécois, cette étude vise à comprendre les différentes facettes de leur identité et leurs attitudes envers les politiques d'accommodement, ainsi que leurs réactions et attitudes lors de la crise des accommodements raisonnables. Le cadre conceptuel se penche sur les notions d'accommodements raisonnables, les différents modèles de gestion de la diversité, et les spécificités de l'identité anglo-québécoise. Les résultats révèlent une complexité dans les positions anglo-québécoises, reflétant une multiplicité d'identités et une variabilité dans l'acceptation des politiques d'accommodement.
