Un des objectifs de l’ACFAS est de favoriser le questionnement et la recherche afin d’encourager les débats et les collaborations entre les chercheurs. En présentant des recherches scientifiques de haut calibre, le présent ouvrage se veut une continuité de cet objectif. Ainsi, les Actes des 17e et 18e journées Sciences et Savoirs (ACFAS Sudbury) s’intéressent à différents champs de recherche et ne contiennent que des articles évalués par des pairs, formant un comité scientifique dans chaque domaine d’expertise. La présente édition comprend treize articles scientifiques signés autant par de nouveaux chercheurs que par des chercheurs chevronnés. Les divers articles qui y sont produits perpétuent la mission de l’ACFAS de « promouvoir la recherche et l’innovation ainsi que la culture scientifique dans l’espace francophone, en contribuant à la diffusion et à la valorisation des connaissances et de l’approche scientifique, en vue d’améliorer la qualité de la vie en société1 . » De la littérature française à la biologie en passant par la sociologie, l’histoire, la géographie, l’étude de l’environnement, l’orthophonie et le service social, ces articles répondent à cette mission.
