Dans cet article, nous proposons une analyse critique du système d’orientation scolaire et professionnelle de la RDC partant de quelques systèmes d’orientation de référence européens (Allemagne, Belgique, Canada, Luxembourg et Suisse) et arabe (Egypte). La méthode SWOT relevant les forces, faiblesses, opportunités et menaces a été utilisée. Les données ont été collectées sur base de la littérature scientifique inhérente à la pratique de l’orientation. Notre référence, les activités générales d’orientation du programme national de 2003 définissant les périodes, activités, tâches, objectifs spécifiques et comportements attendus des bénéficiaires. Plusieurs faiblesses et menaces, nonobstant les forces et opportunités, ont été identifiées. Pas d’activités pratiques précises d’orientation : cours, documentation, informations, personnel adéquat, visites d’entreprises et services, personnel de suivi. Pour un meilleur décollage, une imitation, adaptation à eux serait indiquée, en le reconsidérant et le repensant.
