Abstract
En toda empresa se encuentra un conjunto de procesos concatenados de tal manera que empiezan con un proveedor y terminan con un cliente. Se puede decir entonces, que no existe un producto o servicio sin que exista un proceso. El objetivo de esta tesis es mejorar los procesos administrativos existentes en un hospital de la ciudad de Guayaquil. Esta tesis se enfocará en los procesos vitales, determinando sus problemas, identificando las causas, planteando cambios, evaluando la viabilidad de los mismos y finalmente estableciendo mediciones que permitan mantener en el tiempo el control de los procesos. La determinación de los problemas estará basada en los modelos de los procesos seleccionados, cuya técnica será una de creciente utilización y que ha alcanzado niveles de estandarización en países del primer mundo, esta técnica se conoce como IDEF0. A través de esta técnica se analizarán las funciones que se realizan de manera cotidiana y dentro de ellas, las variables que afectan su ejecución. Como resultado de esta tesis se espera contar con procesos administrativos eficientes.
