Abstract
Il presente elaborato analizza l’impatto del colonialismo in Canada e le sue conseguenze sulle popolazioni autoctone e sull’ambiente, attraverso un’approfondita lettura del romanzo distopico "The Marrow Thieves" di Cherie Dimaline. L’analisi comprende un esame testuale e tematico dell’opera, accompagnato da una proposta di traduzione e relativo commento. La tesi si propone inoltre di contestualizzare il romanzo all’interno del panorama storico, politico e culturale canadese, evidenziando la relazione tra il trauma coloniale e la memoria collettiva delle comunità indigene. This work explores the impact of colonialism in Canada and its consequences on Indigenous populations and the environment through an analysis of the dystopian novel T"he Marrow Thieves" by Cherie Dimaline. The study includes a textual and thematic analysis of the novel, accompanied by a commented translation. Furthermore, the thesis offers a political, historical and cultural contextualization of the novel, highlighting the connection between colonial trauma and the collective memory of Indigenous communities.
