Abstract
Yeni dünya düzeninde iletişim politikaları her geçen gün önemini artırırken, evrilerek yeni boyutlara giren bu genel süreci anlamlandırmak için mikro süreçler de ele alınmalıdır. Bu çerçevede yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin bireysel kullanım alanındaki yönelimlerinin nasıl şekillendiğine bakmak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada yeni iletişim teknolojilerinden cep telefonunun kullanım alışkanlıkları ve tüketim bilincine yönelik tutumlarınadair bazı veriler yapılan ampirik çalışmayla ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Böyleliklebirikim düzeni sonrası ortaya çıkan yeni teknolojilerin ihtiyaç mı olduğu yoksa empoze miedildiğine dair tartışmaya katkıda bulunarak, tüketim anlayışnın cep telefonu örneğindesorgulanması amaçlanmıştır. Günümüz ortamında şartları belirleyen insanların beklentilerideğil pazarın yapısal durumudur. Burada dikkat çekilen nokta ise tüketirken daha çok parave zaman harcatmak üzere hazırlanmış çok çeşitli ürünlerin büyük oranda iletişim teknolojilerindekendini göstermesidir. Liberal pazar anlayışı içinde tüketicinin bilinçli olduğunuve ne istediğini bilerek pazara yöneldiğini varsaymanın yanlışlığı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Buolumsuzluklar ise bilinç endüstrisinin süslenmiş gelişmelerini gölgede bırakmaktadır.
