Abstract
La reconstrucción tridimensional de obras de patrimonio cultural ha demostrado en los últimos años un excepcional interés por la comunidad científica y académica. Hoy en día, con los grandes avances en las tecnologías de adquisición de información tridimensional, el objetivo de recrear en la memoria de un computador una representación fiel de un objeto real conservando la mayor cantidad de características físicas, es cada vez más factible. En el presente trabajo se desarrollan todas las etapas de la Reconstrucción Tridimensional, aplicadas a un conjunto de piezas Precolombinas pertenecientes al Museo Universitario de la Universidad de Antioquia, donde además, en el proceso de adquisición se utilizó un equipo de triangulación por láser localizado en el laboratorio AMMI de la Universidad de Alberta, Canadá. En este documento se describen algunos de los trabajos más representativos que se han desarrollado en el área de preservación cultural, también se detallan los pasos realizados para obtener un modelo digital completo de las piezas Precolombinas escaneadas y finalmente se muestran y discuten los resultados obtenidos con la aplicación de la metodología propuesta.
