Abstract
Al termine del quadrimestre preso in esame, il Canada ha registrato quasi 130.000 casi di Covid-19 e 9.135 decessi su una popolazione che conta, in base all’ultimo censimento del 2016, 35.151.728 abitanti. Le due Province più popolose, Ontario e Québec, hanno segnalato il maggior numero di contagi (rispettivamente, 42.554 e 62.124) e di decessi (2.812 in Ontario e 5.750 in Québec). La Columbia Britannica, considerata inizialmente la Provincia più esposta al rischio contagio per la sua interconnesssione con il continente asiatico, ha riportato 5.952 casi e 209 morti, mentre le altre Province e i Territori hanno registrato un numero relativamente più basso di nuovi casi. Il numero delle persone contagiate ha raggiunto il suo picco all’inizio di maggio, per poi diminuire costantemente.
