Abstract
Aquest treball pretén, en primer lloc, fer una aproximació a l’emfiteusi des d’un punt de vista jurídic, valent-nos sobretot de les investigacions de Mirambell arran dels censos emfitèutics al dret civil català però complementant-ho amb les observacions empíriques de Pere Benito sobre la pràctica de l’emfiteusi a Barcelona en el moment de la recepció del dret civil a Catalunya. En segon lloc, pretén oferir una visió general de l’economia dels segles moderns, tant sintèticament com el volum d’informació ens ha permès. Trobem que és bàsic emmarcar el context econòmic en el qual es desenvolupa l’emfiteusi moderna. Per últim, es pretén tractar diverses formes d’aplicació de l’emfiteusi a la Catalunya moderna, enfocant-ho des d’un punt de vista de les seves variacions i problemàtiques
