Abstract
A doença de Ménétrier é uma doença rara que acomete principalmente homens de meia idade. Caracteriza-se por pregas mucosas gigantes de corpo e fundo, hipocloridria e hipoalbuminemia secundária à perda proteica. A doença cursa com má absorção de nutrientes essenciais e se manifesta através de uma síndrome clínica de gastropatia perdedora de proteínas. Relatamos aqui o caso de uma mulher jovem que abre o quadro com uma anemia importante, alternância do hábito intestinal e edema de extremidades. A investigação inicial demonstrou hipoalbuminemia marcada. Exame endoscópico evidenciou importante espessamento do fundo e corpo gástricos além de antro poupado, com anatomopatológico compatível para o diagnóstico de Doença de Ménétrier. A paciente evoluiu com melhora clínica significativa após instituição do tratamento conservador, atualmente mantendo acompanhamento clínico regular e rastreio para neoplasias periodicamente.
