Estudio de la lateralidad en niños de Educación Infantil y Primaria de una escuela rural de Navarra

Abstract
El presente estudio ha consistido en explorar la lateralidad de 49 niños de Educación Infantil y Educación Primaria de una escuela pública rural de la comunidad de Navarra (España). Para ello, se ha utilizado una prueba que permite analizar el tipo de lateralidad que presenta cada alumno. Asimismo, se pretende comprobar si se cumple el supuesto de que la lateralidad evoluciona con la edad y si, en los cursos superiores, existen más niños con una lateralidad bien definida que en los primeros cursos de escolarización. Por otro lado, con los alumnos de cursos superiores se ha estudiado la relación existente entre lateralidad y rendimiento académico. \nLos resultados indican que, en la muestra seleccionada, los niños de los cursos superiores de Educación Primaria presentan más casos de lateralidad cruzada y sin definir que en los cursos de Educación Infantil. Del mismo modo, se comprueba que no existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la lateralidad y el rendimiento académico.
