Abstract
Dans cette recherche, nous voulons démontrer comment Félix Leclerc, poète et chansonnier, est devenu une figure rassembleuse au sein de la collectivité québécoise. Après avoir jeté un regard sur son parcours biographique, nous analysons principalement les textes de ses chansons. Cette étape nous permet de dégager les principaux référents identitaires auxquels Leclerc fait fréquemment appel, tels que le coureur de bois, la liberté, la langue ou la nature. Ces référents contribuent grandement à forger un lien entre le poète et son public. Nous étudions ensuite le rôle des médias dans la construction du «personnage» de Félix Leclerc, sans oublier d'aborder l'implication politique du poète et ses répercussions sur sa carrière. Nous verrons ainsi comment le poète en est venu à occuper une place particulière dans la mémoire collective des Québécois.
