L’adaptació escolar i les transicions educatives es poden considerar moments crítics per als infants i les famílies. La present tesi doctoral investiga «com es relaciona l’adaptació escolar d’infants d’edats compreses entre els 16 mesos i els 3 anys, a l’Escola Montessori Palau, amb el seu grau de desenvolupament?». S’han analitzat els tres agents actius que hi participen —l’infant, les famílies i les escoles/docents— a partir de cinc recerques. La pedagogia Montessori es pot desenvolupar en contextos diferents, alhora que l’atenció individualitzada garanteix el desenvolupament integral i sense límits. Promou que els canvis de grup classe —i, per tant, les transicions educatives— es donin en qualsevol moment del curs escolar. En conseqüència, l’entorn que l’envolta i les experiències li ofereixen l’oportunitat de consolidar certes habilitats individualment. Existeix una bidireccionalitat d’influències entre la família i els fills/es, però cal considerar la relació triàdica, en què l’escola també té un paper important.
