En este artículo se pretende destacar la importancia que la acogida tiene para que la integración del alumnado inmigrante en el país receptor sea lo más satisfactoria posible. Para ello, se parte del caso de la ciudad de Toronto, una ciudad que destaca por su elevado índice de población alóctona (más del 50% de la población no ha nacido en Canadá), pero también por el alto grado de éxito de sus políticas educativas.
