La reconnaissance : un outil managérial dans la restauration?

Abstract
La reconnaissance dans le domaine de restauration au Québec reste un sujet qui n’a pas beaucoup été étudié dans le passé. À travers une analyse thématique qui adopte la méthode qualitative dans neuf entrevues, cette recherche vise à explorer et comprendre comment la reconnaissance est employée dans le domaine de restauration. Au niveau de trois restaurants d’une même chaîne de restauration québécoise à Montréal, elle traite le travail dans la restauration, la relation entre les employés et leurs gérants, ainsi que la reconnaissance au travail. En se posant la question comment est-ce que la reconnaissance est employée dans le domaine de restauration, les résultats démontrent que la perception de la reconnaissance est différente entre les employés et leurs gérants. Les employés s’attendent à être impliqués à travers la reconnaissance dans le processus d’organisation du travail, tandis que les gérants utilisent la reconnaissance pour contrôler la performance de leurs employés, ainsi que les retenir dans leurs établissements respectifs. La recherche s’arrête sur le fait que la reconnaissance est utilisée comme un outil managérial dans la main des gérants, afin de contrôler les employés et les retenir.
