Abstract
Migration und Globalisierung sind in den gegenwärtigen Diskursen omnipräsent. Italien gilt als bedeutendes europäisches Auswanderungsland des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. Dieses Buch widmet sich dem in der kanadischen Metropole Montreal gesprochenen Italienischen. Anhand der Morphosyntax werden die dortigen Sprachveränderungen untersucht. Die Auswertung erfolgt auf drei Ebenen: Korrelierung mit den diatopischen, diaphasischen und diastratischen Varietäten des Italienischen, mit Daten aus der Spracherosionsforschung sowie mit Ergebnissen zum Zweitspracherwerb. Die Korpusanalyse berücksichtigt die Generationszugehörigkeit, die Integration in die ethnische Gemeinschaft sowie die Verwendungshäufigkeit des Italienischen. Es wird u. a. nachgewiesen, dass Spracherosionsprozesse nicht homogen ablaufen und im Zuge der kommunikativen Globalisierung und Mediatisierung die Alternative des Sprachwandels zu erwägen ist.
