Abstract
This master’s thesis explores the representation of death and childhood in three works from different cultures, considered classics of children's literature: Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and Night on the Galactic Railway by Kenji Miyazawa. Topics such as the definition of the wonderful world, the idealization of the child figure, and the theme of the initiatory journey are addressed through a comparative method in order to offer insight into the concept of death in these three works.
