Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Ohio's blueprint for combating the algae in Lake Erie that has become a threat to drinking water calls for targeting specific watersheds and developing a monitoring network within the next year. An algae problem in Lake Erie'll be getting a lot of attention from Ohio this year.Ohio's government agencies will spend the next year looking closely at hotspots that are contributing to the lake's algae blooms and developing a monitoring network. The work's part of the state's strategy to attack the algae that has become an increasing threat to drinking water.Michigan and the Canadian province of Ontario along with Ohio -- which all border Lake Erie -- signed a deal in 2015 to make a 40 percent reduction over the next decade in the phosphorus runoff feeding the algae.Ohio's plan calls for using the next year to ID priority watersheds and develop reduction targets for those areas that are the source of large amounts of phosphorus. The state's also going to look for ways to cut phosphorus discharges at 30 wastewater treatment plants in northwestern Ohio.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
