Abstract
Varför är de gamla strukturerna så seglivade i skolorna trots att reformpedagoger som Dewey, Montessori och Freinet redan för snart hundra år sedan betonade hur inlärning beror på elevernas egen aktivitet och känsla av mening i arbetet? Vilka element innehåller en framtida utopisk skola? Uppsatsen undersöker frågorna via intervjuer med professor Pirkko Pohjakallio, historielärare Petter Wallenius, studier av den antiauktoritära skolan Sudbury Valley School, den s.k. popupdagen i Arabian Peruskoulu samt skribentens egna erfarenheter som elev och lärare och medlem av en ledarlös orkester.
