La adicin de carbohidratos o lpidos como fuentes de energa en dietas para peces mejora la utilizacin de la protena para el crecimiento.Este estudio evalu el uso de cinco dietas isoproticas (26% PB) con diferentes relaciones de carbohidratos/lpidos (16,7, 7,5, 4,4, 2,9 y 2,0) para el crecimiento de juveniles de pac, obtenidas por medio de la disminucin gradual del extractivo no nitrogenado (50, 45, 40, 35, 30%) y el concomitante incremento en el nivel de lpidos (3, 6, 9, 12 y 15%).Para la determinacin de los coeficientes de digestibilidad aparente de la materia seca (CDaMS), protena bruta (CDaPB), lpidos (CDaL) y energa bruta (CDaEB), fueron recolectadas heces de 170 juveniles de pac (43,08,7 g de peso vivo y 12,50,8 cm de longitud estndar) divididos en cinco tratamientos (T 50:3, T 45:6, T 40:9, T 35:12, T 30:15 ), utilizndose el sistema Guelph modificado.La digestibilidad aparente de la materia seca (CDaMS) y de la energa bruta (CDaEB) mejoraron significativamente (P<0,05) con el aumento de la relacin CHO/L, siendo que para la dieta T 50:3 se encontraron los mayores valores (79,45% y 84,9%, respectivamente).Los mejores CDaPB fueron encontrados para las dietas con las ms altas (T 50:3 ) o ms bajas (T 15:30 ) relaciones de CHO/L (90,4% y 90,5%, respectivamente), indicando que la utilizacin de los mximos niveles de lpidos o de carbohidratos, mejor el aprovechamiento de la protena de la dieta (P<0,05).La digestibilidad de los lpidos mejor gradualmente (P<0,05) con el aumento de sus niveles en las dietas, siendo encontrado el mejor CDaL para la dieta T 30:15 (95,7%).El tiempo de trnsito grastrointestinal tambin aument proporcionalmente con el incremento de lpidos y fibra bruta de las dietas (24,7, 26,0, 26,8, 28,6 y 29,3 horas).Los efectos negativos sobre los resultados de digestibilidad de MS y EB, pueden ser explicados por los niveles crecientes de FB, mas que por las relaciones decrecientes de CHO/L.
