Abstract
People are leaving coats and scarves outside for the homeless. Putting a coat on a /lamppost/ seems like a strange thing to do, especially as the weather gets colder. But, the Independent says people around the world're leaving jackets zipped onto outdoor objects -- such as poles and pillars -- for homeless people who need to keep warm as temperatures drop. Notes've been left on some of the donations so people in need know it's okay to take them. The trend was first reported in Halifax, Canada by CTV Atlantic. But this act of kindness is spreading. Pictures of jackets and scarves left for people outside've started making the rounds on Facebook in the U-K and the U-S.
