s -1 with 22.6 g FM.The amber grown plants resulted in 33.3 % more yield than the next closet wavelength (red) at the same irradiance level and resulted in 1.7 times more yield than the blue at the same irradiance level.Lettuce plants grown under amber wavelength were photosaturated, and significant photobleaching occurred, an irradiance level above 1000 mol m -2 s -1 .Plants were photosaturated, but not photobleached, when grown under red light with an irradiance level above 1000 mol m -2 s -1 .Plants under blue and RBA light did not reach photosaturation, even with irradiance above 1200 mol m -2 s -1 , suggesting that blue light may inhibit plant growth compared to amber and red light.Supply of amber light resulted in significantly higher yield of lettuce than red, blue and the RBA combination light, but the biological mechanism of the plant use of amber light is unknown at this time.
