Abstract
Au cours de l'année 1999-2000, les chercheurs du CIRST ont globalement accru leurs activités, comme l'indique l'évolution du nombre de publications et d'étudiants encadrés.Le nombre de publications a connu une croissance de 45 % et le nombre d'étudiants encadrés par les chercheurs du CIRST est passé de 39 en 1997-98 à 58 en 1999-2000.Le nombre de diplômés a aussi doublé au cours de la même période, 16 étudiants ayant obtenu leur diplôme.Les étudiants ont aussi eu l'occasion de participer à plusieurs séminaires et à l'atelier annuel de travail.Toujours au plan de la formation, plusieurs chercheurs du centre ont poursuivi leur enseignement au baccalauréat en Sciences, Technologie et Société de l'UQAM.Plusieurs étudiants du baccalauréat sont intégrés aux équipes du CIRST et de l'OST.Au plan organisationnel, l'année a été marquée par le départ de Pierre Di Campo, responsable du centre de documentation pendant plus de dix ans.Pierre avait développé le centre pour en faire un outil indispensable à tous les chercheurs du CIRST.Heureusement, Lucie Comeau a rapidement comblé le vide laissé par Pierre et a su élargir la gamme des services offerts aux chercheurs et aux étudiants.
