Czas wojen napoleońskich, a zwłaszcza lata 1807- 1815 gdy od czasu pokoju w Tylży do zakończenia Kongresu Wiedeńskiego istniało Księstwo Warszawskie, był to zloty okres w historii polskiego wolnomularstwa. Nie brakowało wtedy w polskich lożach oficerów, którzy odznaczali się nie tylko na froncie podczas kampanii wojennych. Mimo oporu i ataku ze strony kleru przyczyniali się w znaczny sposób do rozwoju masonerii, w której bezustannie, nawet wśród nowo przyjmowanych adeptów, było wielu wojskowych. W lożach zajmowali różne stanowiska. Swoją aktywną działalnością i nauką niewiele odbiegali od głównych zasad chrześcijańskich. Głoszone hasła starali się realizować, pomagali bliźnim, a jednocześnie pracowali bezustannie nad sobą.
