Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Desperate Housewives (2004) is one of the drama series which presents the fractured lives of four upper middle class suburban women in Wisteria Lane and the problems, how they are facing the secrets, crimes, and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their-at the surface-beautiful suburban neighborhoods. There are four major characters in this drama series, Susan Mayer, Lynette Scavo, Bree Van De Kamp, and Gabrielle Solis. They have their own problems and solutions to share between them. The story tells about their life during their quarter life about their struggle in career, couple seeking, marital life, performances, etc.
\nThe main purpose of this study is to provide profound analysis on the identity of Gabrielle as a suburban woman portrayed in Desperate Housewives. The identity can be seen upon several environmental aspects. Then, the identity is analyzed further to see the shifting identity that happens toward Gabrielle’s life, such as marital life, economic life and sexual relationship. The major finding of the analysis on the identity and the shifting identity of Gabrielle as a suburban woman is material obsession as her point of view to reach happy housewife life. It is obviously seen when Gabrielle accepts Carlos’s proposal. The shifting that happens toward Gabrielle is seen when she just realizes that love is the important thing than material obsession.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
