Abstract
Tarihi yarımada alan yönetim kapsamında bulunan Fatih ilçesindeki ayazmalar çalışmanın konusudur. İstanbul’da Suriçi olarak adlandırılan bu alan Bizans döneminde kent merkezini oluşturur. İnsan yaşamının kaynağı olan su, ilk çağlardan beri kutsaliyet atfedilmiş, ritüellerin ayrılmaz bir parçası olmuştur. Bugün hala semavi dinlerde su çok önemli bir yeri kapsamaktadır. Bu sebeple İstanbul ayazmaları da şehrin soyut ve somut kültür mirasının önemli bir parçasıdırlar. İstanbulluların yüzyıllardır şifasına inandıkları ayazmaların her biri farklı bir kutsal varlığa adanmıştır. Her derde deva olan bu ayazmalar günümüzde unutulmuş, tahribata uğramış veya yok olmuştur. Tarihi Yarımada’da birer kültür varlığı olarak tescil ve varlıklarını sürdürebilmelerinin önemli olduğu düşüncesi ile bu tezde ayazmalar ve su kültürü ele alınmıştır. Tarihi Yarımada Yönetim Planı içine alınarak, korunmaları,tescillenmeleri ve birer kültür varlığı olarak gelecek kuşaklara aktarılmaları hedeflenmiştir.
