Rezultati višegodišnjih istraživanja, domišljanja i preispitivanja koji su sabrani u ovoj knjizi pristupaju vizantijskom nakitu kao fenomenu u njegovim manifestacijama na području srpskih zemalja srednjeg veka. Šta je na nakitu vizantijsko u najširem značenju tog pojma – tehnika, oblik, ukras, ili sve to zajedno u posebnoj meri i na poseban način? U kojim se sve vidovima vizantijska obeležja javljaju na nakitu sa naših nalazišta? Koliki je udeo vizantijskog nasle|a u domaćem poznosrednjovekovnom nakitu? To su samo neka od pitanja na koja ova knjiga nudi odgovore, oslanjajući se na podsticajne studije naših uglednih istraživača, u prvom redu dr Mirjane Ćorović-Ljubinković, dr Bojane Radojković, dr Slavenke Ercegović-Pavlović, dr Gordane Marjanović-Vujović, dr Dušice Minić i prof. dr Vojislava Jovanovića.
