Abstract
Nghiên cứu này đã được thực hiện thông qua phỏng vấn 64 hộ nuôi cá lóc trong ao ở An Giang và Trà Vinh từ tháng 02-04/2014. Kết quả cho thấy quy mô nuôi cá lóc ở tỉnh An Giang nhỏ hơn so với tỉnh Trà Vinh, nguồn giống chủ yếu từ các cơ sở sản xuất ở An Giang. Thức ăn viên công nghiệp được sử dụng chủ yếu với FCR từ 1,32-1,33. Thời gian nuôi, tỷ lệ sống và năng suất cá nuôi ở 2 tỉnh khác biệt không đáng kể nhưng cỡ cá thu hoạch ở Trà Vinh lớn hơn An Giang. Tổng chi phí đầu tư trong mô hình là khá cao (4,9-5,8 tỷ đồng/ha/vụ), tỷ lệ hộ có lời ở Trà Vinh chỉ 15,6% và An Giang 37,5% là do giá bán thấp. Những thay đổi thời tiết có ảnh hưởng đến nuôi cá lóc như: (1) hạn hán kéo dài; (2) nóng hơn trong mùa khô; (3) nhiệt độ biến động lớn giữa ngày và đêm; (4) lạnh hơn trong mùa lạnh (5) mưa nắng bất thường và (6) xâm nhập mặn làm tỷ lệ xuất hiện bệnh nhiều hơn, chất lượng nước kém hơn, tỷ lệ sống và năng suất nuôi giảm. Giải pháp thích ứng của người nuôi hiện nay là tăng chi phí bơm nước và sử dụng thuốc & hóa chất từ 24,2-29,2 tr.đ/ha/năm.
