У дисертаційній роботі досліджено проблему формування і розвитку системи української дошкільної освіти й виховання у США та Канаді, виокремлено й охарактеризовано соціокультурні умови еволюції цього процесу, здійснено авторську періодизацію його генези в українських діаспорах зазначених держав. Розкрито сутність понять «українська дошкільна освіта й виховання у США та Канаді», «український дошкільний навчальний заклад у діаспорі». Визначено типи дошкільних навчальних закладів в українських діаспорах США та Канади, їх статусне значення, функції і умови виконання в
\nполіетнічному середовищі країн проживання. Схарактеризовано організаційно-методичні засади діяльності українських дошкільних навчальних закладів та її дидактичне забезпечення. Виявлено особливості професійної підготовки та фахового зростання педагогічних працівників українських дошкільних навчальних закладів у США та Канаді, зміст, форми, методи і засоби навчання й виховання дітей в системі українського дошкілля цих держав. Висвітлено основні напрями виховної діяльності українських дошкільних навчальних закладів США та Канади. Запропоновано шляхи творчого використання прогресивних ідей та практичного досвіду педагогів українського дошкілля в
\nсучасному освітньому просторі України. В диссертационной работе исследована проблема формирования и развития системы украинского дошкольного образования и воспитания в США
\nи Канаде, выделены и охарактеризованы социокультурные условия эволюции этого процесса, осуществлено авторскую периодизацию его генезиса в украинских диаспорах указанных государств. Раскрыта сущность понятий «украинское дошкольное образование и воспитание в США и Канаде»,
\n«украинское дошкольное учебное заведение в диаспоре». Определены типы дошкольных учебных заведений в украинских диаспорах США и Канады, их статусное значение, функции и условия выполнения в полиэтнической среде стран проживания. Охарактеризованы организационно-методические основы деятельности украинских дошкольных учебных заведений и ее дидактическое
\nобеспечение. Выявлены особенности профессиональной подготовки и профессионального роста педагогических работников украинских дошкольных учебных заведений США и Канаде, содержание, формы, методы и средства обучения и воспитания детей в системе украинского дошкольного образования этих государств. Освещены основные направления воспитательной деятельности украинских дошкольных учебных заведений США и Канады. Предложены пути творческого использования прогрессивных идей и практического опыта педагогов украинского дошкольного образования в современном образовательном пространстве Украины. The thesis aims at research of the problem of formation and development of the system of Ukrainian pre-school education and upbringing in the US and Canada. A source-based analysis let single out and characterize sociocultural conditions of
\nevolution of this process (social, political, cultural, pedagogical), perform author’s periodization of its genesis in Ukrainian diasporas of the said states (first period (the 1930s – 1940s) – spontaneous development of Ukrainian pre-school education, second period (the 1950s – 1960s) – formation of the system of Ukrainian pre-school educational institutions in the USA and Canada, third period (second half of the 1960s – the 1980s) – institutional registration and development of the system of preschool education and upbringing of the young generation of the Ukrainians in the US and Canada, fourth period (the 1990s – 2000s) – modernization of functioning of Ukrainian pre-school educational institutions of the US and Canada with involvement
\nof innovational achievements of modern pedagogical science and practice. The meaning of the notions of «Ukrainian pre-school education and upbringing in the US and Canada» (it is an integral process that ensures all-rounded development of a pre-school-aged child in accordance with his/her congenital potential, taking into
\naccount his/her inclinations, abilities, individual psychic, mental and physical peculiarities, formation of the feeling of ethnic belonging by means of Ukrainian language, culture, art, folk pedagogy, readiness for studying in the system of Ukrainian school education, upbringing of real / law-abiding citizens of the country of residence
\nand Ukrainian patriots at the same time), «a Ukrainian pre-school educational institution in diaspora» (private instructional-educational institution founded by a public or religious community or an individual pursuant to official requirements that creates favorable conditions for a child’s receiving of Ukrainian ethnic belonging
\nwithin Ukrainian studies education thanks to mastering Ukrainian, ensures his/her harmonious development and ethnic education, forms motivation to continue studying in the system of the Ukrainians’ native language educational system, organizes collaboration of parents and children in this process) has been given. Types of pre-school educational institutions in Ukrainian diasporas of the US and Canada (nursery schools, kindergartens, pre-school classes, summer homes, gatherings, Sunday meetings, interest groups, child development centers, culturaleducational / educational-cultural centers, play groups, bilingual programs), their status significance, functions and conditions and working in polyethnic environment of the countries of residence have been defined. Organizational and methodical grounds of activity of Ukrainian pre-school
\neducational institutions and its didactic provisions have been characterized. Peculiarities of professional training and professional development of pedagogues of Ukrainian pre-school educational institutions in the US and Canada have been discovered. Forms (mandatory classes with group, pair and individual work of the pedagogue and the pupils), methods (instructional-educational (verbal), practical-activity based,
\nvisual, stimulation and control based) and means (simple and complex) of instructional-educational activity of Ukrainian pre-school educational institutions in the US and Canada have been analyzed. Main directions of educational activity of Ukrainian pre-school educational institutions in the US and Canada (national, religious, moral) have been highlighted. Ways of creative utilization of progressive ideas and practical experience of
\npedagogues of Ukrainian pre-school education in modern educational environment of Ukraine have been suggested.
