Abstract
År 2021 utfördes i Finland, Sverige, Norge och på Island cirka 53 000 aborter, dvs. 11,5 aborter per 1 000 kvinnor i fertil ålder (15–49 år). Antalet aborter var minst i Finland (6,7/1 000 kvinnor i samma ålder) och störst i Sverige (15,1/1 000 kvinnor i samma ålder). Det finns ingen information för Danmark för år 2019‒2021. I Danmark utfördes ca 14 300 aborter år 2018.
