Las Guías de Práctica Clínica (GPC) son documentos estandarizados que recogen recomendaciones ante un problema de salud específico, para ayudar a profesionales sanitarios y pacientes en la toma de decisiones. En España existe el Programa de Implantación de Guías de Buenas Prácticas, cuyo objetivo es implantar GPC de la Asociación de Enfermeras de Ontario, Canadá (RNAO) en los centros sanitarios, implicando y formando para ello al personal de enfermería. Fruto de ello, existen dos Centros Comprometidos con la Excelencia en Cuidados (CCEC) en Castilla y León: el Hospital Medina del Campo (HMC) y el Centro de Salud Ponferrada II.
\nEl objetivo del estudio fue analizar la práctica diaria del personal de enfermería del HMC, entorno donde se utilizan GPC, y el Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid (HCUV), entorno donde no se utilizan GPC, y compararlas entre sí.
