Si les processus de connectivité s’intensifient aujourd’hui à l’échelle planétaire jusqu’à prévaloir, en apparence du moins, sur les frontières à la fois physiques (comme la Grande Muraille de Chine ou la Ligne verte à Chypre) et psychologiques (comme les barrières idéologiques posées par la censure, la religion et la xénophobie), la géographie mondiale présente encore de profondes divisions. Autrement dit, et pour emprunter uneimage plus parlante, le globe reste parcouru de failles profondes, à l’instar du Grande Cretto1, célèbre œuvre de land-art réalisée par Alberto Burri à Gibellina, en Sicile.
