Abstract
Individuazione delle caratteristiche di adsorbimento della sostanza organica su carboni attivi granulari mediante due tipologie di esperimenti: termodinamico e cinetico. Per comprendere a fondo la dinamica di adsorbimento di tali sostanze naturalmente presenti nelle acque sotterranee di Vars (Ontario, Canada) si è proceduto ad una caratterizzazione chimico-fisica preliminare di tali acque e successivamene alla quantificazione della sostanza organica (acidi umici e fulvici) mediante frazionamento con ultrafiltrazione e resina XAD-8. I dati sperimentali scaturiti dallo studio termodinamico sono stati poi modellizzati utilizzando i principali modelli matematici che descrivono il fenomeno dell'adsorbimento ed è stato valutato qualitativamente e quantitativamente il modello più idoneo al caso in questione, operando anche un confronto con dati sperimentali del passato provenienti da esperimenti analoghi effettuati sulle medesime acque sotterranee.
