Abstract
The Care Relationships of Adult Disabled and Nondisabled Siblings research study is for autistic and intellectually disabled individuals and their nondisabled siblings. The shift from parental to sibling care relationships can be overwhelming because are not many resources and services offered to support the transition. The partnership between Western University Disability and Medical Anthropologists, and Siblings Canada, an initiative of the Centre for Caregiving Excellence (CCCE), are aiming to look at the mutual care relationships between adult siblings (disabled and nondisabled). The overall goal of the project is to provide a deeper understanding of the lives of siblings in care relationships, especially those formed after the primary caregiver (which is usually the parents) is not able to provide care anymore.
