Se realiza un estudio descriptivo en 121 jóvenes fumadores del área Este del municipio Guantánamo, perteneciente al Policlínico Universitario “Mártires del 4 de abril”, durante el período enero-noviembre de 2005. De ellos, 56, del sexo masculino y, 65, del femenino. Se les realizan mediciones antropométricas encontrando resultados que nos permiten plantear que las mujeres son de tipo hipergraso con índice de masa corporal medio y patrón de distribución de grasa central superior, mientras que los hombres son de tipo normograso con índice de masa corporal medio, igualmente, pero con patrón de grasa central inferior.
