[es] A comienzos de la década de los cincuenta el espectáculo cinematográfico vizcaíno empieza una etapa de expansión, que toca techo en 1966. A partir de ese momento la extensa red desalas que formaban parte de la exhibición cinematográfica del territorio histórico, cuyo máximo exponente era Bilbao y su area metropolitana inicia un lento pero firme declive. Durante este primer acto de la crisis, que se prolonga hasta 1978,se cerraron 53 cines y se perdieron algo más de 13 millones de espectadores.
