O propósito deste trabalho é estabelecer uma edição semidiplomática justalinear do manuscrito inédito e completo da Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa, cód. 677, intitulado História Topográfica e Bélica da Nova Colônia do Sacramento do Rio da Prata, contribuindo assim para futuras pesquisas filológicas, lingüísticas e históricas. Mantemos todos os pormenores quanto às correções e acréscimos existentes no texto, a fim de evidenciar que o testemunho contém uma obra ainda em elaboração. O trabalho trata dos seguintes aspectos da obra: Autoria, obra e contexto histórico; Testemunhos conhecidos; Normas de transcrição e Edição semidiplomática do manuscrito de Lisboa.
