Lema del Da Mundial del Ozono"Respeta la capa de oz ono.Sal al sol sin peligro" "Respeta la capa de ozono.Sal al sol sin peligro", propone este ao la ONU, dos dcadas despus del descubrimiento del agujero de ozono.Las Naciones Unidas declararon el 16 de septiembre como el Da Internacional para la Proteccin de la Capa de Ozono con el fin de conmemorar la firma del Protocolo de Montreal, el 16 de septiembre de 1987.El Protocolo naci para controlar la produccin y la utilizacin de sustancias que destruyen el ozono.La consigna de la celebracin en 2005 ha sido establecida por la Secretara de Ozono del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente.La destruccin de la capa de ozono en la primavera antrtica, popularmente conocido como "agujero de ozono", viene sucediendo desde hace ms de dos dcadas.Los modelos actuales predicen que los niveles de ozono en la Antrtida comenzarn a recuperarse a partir de 2010, gracias a la disminucin estimada de halgenos en la estratosfera.
